My youngest sons partner is heading off to England next February and has asked that I make her some nice thick socks to keep her feet warm. Well who am I to refuse a request to do something I love doing.

I have begun to go through patterns and thought I would knit some socks for her as there are many wonderful patterns, designed by some truly amazing artists. Let's face it, they truly are artists with the way they put stitches together to make remarkable items of clothing and décor.

Whilst looking at the patterns I came across a number of sweet and adorable knitted socks and booties. With excitement, I perused the patterns only to find I was missing a crucial tool to make not only knitted socks and booties for babies but also for adults...DOUBLE POINTED KNITTING NEEDLES.

A trip to Spotlight was already planned to get some more yarn (you can NEVER have too much yarn you know) and some pearl beads so as I can teach myself how to crochet and knit with beads. So keep an eye out for upcoming items utilizing a new technique .

Oh that's right I was talking about Double Pointed Knitting Needles and having to get some. Well before I went to Spotlight, I logged onto Ebay. I love Ebay! Anyway after a good look around I found eleven packs of five dpns. The price was I felt extremely reasonable and as the seller was in Australia I knew I could get them in just a few days rather than a few weeks or so. I basically purchased 55 needles for the price of 10 and they cover quite a variety of sizes. So I am one very happy crafter.

It has actually worked out quite well to get them when I did as I am knitting a lovely rib and cable beanie for my gorgeous and loving husband and even though you use circular needles to begin with, the decreasing is used with dpns.

So now I will be able to knit some cute, adorable socks and booties.

Speaking of knitting hubby a beanie, I have decided that weekends for me will now be devoted to "Me Craft" time. Monday's to Friday's will be spent making items for Made With Love By Penny and weekends will be devoted to making items for the home, family and friends.

The only time this will change will be if I have urgent custom orders to make.

Made With Love By Penny's first newsletter will be coming out on June 1st 2016, so if you are interested in finding out what I will be putting up for sale in June, then join our little family by signing up. Details can be found on the right side column. Don't forget there will be special coupon codes for newsletter members only on select items. Competitions and Early Previews of upcoming listings..

In this week's Wednesday WoW, I will be announcing the winner of the Giveaway, so keep an eye out for an email if you are the lucky one chosen.
Oh and for those who are wondering how the winner is decided, Rafflecopter does it through a random selection.

After Wednesday WoW's post, I will be taking a brief hiatus from blog posting and will be returning on Sunday June 12th 2016.

I wish you all a wonderfully safe and happy week,
