Diaper Covers, Nappy Covers, Soakers and Bum Wraps Week continued

Hello everyone,

Well it looks like Blogger and I have finally come to an agreement. I type a post and it won't come up with silly messages and prevent me from posting.

My apologies for not posting last Sunday but I had technical difficulties with Blogger but I am not going into that.

Welcome to Diaper Cover, Nappy Cover, Soaker and Bum Wrap Week!

Last Sunday on the Facebook page, I announced that I was going to spend a week doing just one type of item a week to sell.

I have actually decided to do a two week work on one type of item theme.

This is mainly because I have had a bit of trouble with my MS, which slows me down. Such an irration I can assure you. Rather than putting pressure on myself I feel two weeks is a more realistic goal.

Next week I'll give you a glimpse of some of the items I have made but this week, well this week I'll just give you a little run down on what I have made.

I have made some cute bum wraps for little girls, working on some boys only type ones. Then there are the unisex type and believe me they are always fun.

There are purple, pink, red, bright green and taupish/fawn. More bright colors to come.

This week just gone my gorgeous and overworked husband made me a Lucet out of an old spoon. I was and am so excited about it. I happened upon it on Youtube one day in regards to making corded soles for slippers. It truly is an amazing and apparently a very, very old craft. Some say it dates back to the age of the Vikings.

Now I have to admit that when I saw the Youtube Video, I felt it would be fairly easy to learn and came to the conclusion that it would be perfect for use around waists to hold pants up or around tiny ankles with booties.

You can also use Lucet cord for embellishing a crochet or knit project and get this...shoelaces. Why oh why did I not know about this for when my sons were younger and ate through shoelaces like they were limp strands of spaghetti!

Anywhoo, as I had been having trouble this week, I sat down to try out my gorgeous Lucet and I could not follow the instructions. All I could do was make a huge mess out of everything.

In comes Shane (gorgeous hubby) to the rescue. He sat down and watched the video tute and within five minutes had the making of a cord.

He now thinks he is just it and a bit and is going to teach me how to do it. Looking forward to this, as I love doing things with Shane.

So with some practice I am hoping to eventually make my crochet items that require a cord of sorts to look a tad more professional by using a Lucet cord.

Don't worry, I'll still be using ribbons as well.

Well that's about it from me for this week. Hope you all have a good one. Be safe and don't forget to check out Made With Love By Penny at Etsy and I am now officially on Google+, so if you would like to follow me that would be fantastic. But bear with me as I'm a Google+ newbie and working my way round it lol
