Welcome and hello

Welcome everyone to the Made With Love By Penny blog.

This will not be a daily blog as I have a lot of other things I need to concentrate on and do and let's face it there really is only 24 hours in a day and your brain does go into meltdown at about hour 20 lol.

So I am going to make this a once a week round-up and post on a Sunday evening, letting you all know what I have been up to and hopefully with some homely pics to go with it.

I suppose I should explain to you what Made With Love By Penny is all about and who I am.

Well my name is Penny and Made With Love By Penny is the name of the shop I have opened up on Etsy and it has been a huge thing for me to do as I have not worked for quite awhile.

My aim is to provide beautiful, easy to wash and wear, items of clothing for babies and toddlers. I am also hoping to comple a baby blanket every couple of months to put up for sale.
I only use acrylic yarn as I know from experience that wool is lovely to use but not all kids like it or can handle wearing it. We can't have our little bundles of joy getting itchy, now can we lol

Brief background...I am happily married to my childhood sweetheart for 29 years this April and we have been blessed to have had two handsome sons, both of whom have moved out of home, so yes we are empty nesters here except every second weekend. My eldest son has two son's of his own, one of whom comes to stay each fortnight as he loves his Grammy and Pappy. He also has a step daughter who delights me no end and I have to say it is nice to have a giggling girl in the house and wanting to do girly things.

When I was 40 I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar and due to that and a stupid back ache and arthritis I retired from work. This left me with a lot of time on my hands. I began writing and have been published three times. I have also been very lucky to learn about the publishing business as I became the PA for the owner but after a brief time I had to resign as I had trouble with concentration.

That is when I took up an old hobby, crochet. I took delight in making things for friends and family especially the little ones. There is something so nice about seeing a baby or toddler in something handmade.

This time last year I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis or MS as it is easier to say and type. I found crocheting to be a great form of not only relaxation but also a great form of therapy in getting the use of my left hand back admisdt the shaking and numbness.

From there on in I began to make baby clothes for great-niece plus more besides.

With the encouragement of my wonderful and patient husband, as well as my family, especially my niece Sarah, (mother of great-niece), I decided to take the gut wrenching, hand sweating step and open an Etsy store.

So this now brings me up to the present, the right now and what I am up to,,,,but you are going to have to wait until Sunday to find out more.

In the meantime, pop over to Made With Love By Penny (direct link next to home button up top), check out my social media sites and pass my info on to your family and friends.

So until Sunday, Valentines Day, I bid you all adieu.
