Organizing...is it even possible?

Welcome to
I was thinking about what to write today whilst trying to find the pattern in my Google Drive for the booties I had started making. Thoughts of do I feature this store, this website, this Facebook Page and so on were rushing about in my brain...when it hit me like a piece of 2 x 4 wood being slammed into the back of my head.

Today's post was going to be about ORGANIZATION!

Now I have to admit that I use to be a very organized person when it came to work and filing on the computer. My fellow workers actually had the cheek to say I was anal retentive about how I used to have my desk set up and how I use to label files in folders on the computer.

Then it all started to change when I began working at a call centre. I actually began to have trouble organizing information in a useful user friendly way.

Jump forward to the past 18 months and it has become a complete shambles. I have become a pattern junkie and Google Drive is jammed packed with patterns both free and purchased. To explain how bad I am, I have used up 10Mb of the the 15Mb that they allow you before you need to purchase more.

So like I said earlier, I was looking for the pattern as I have half a bootie left to do and thought it would give me a bit of a break from the wrap I am making for my mother-inlaw for Mother's Day. But do you think I could find the pattern?

I went through each and every folder, checking for the booties pattern and I swear to the Goddess that the Google Gremlin had struck and was hiding it behind an invisibility cloak. Hellllo Harry Potter references lol

After groaning and cursing all that I could click and open, I felt that lump of 2 x 4 that I mention hit me in the back of my head.

The funny thing is last night I was actually watching Youtube video's about organizing your yarn and how people use some really great and ingenious methods and items to store them in. I really recommend you go to Youtube and type in organizing yarn and then from there I started to click on the links on the sides which got me into all sorts of organizing video's ie, clothing, kitchen, make-up, nail polish (I have a full drawer of that), jewellery and so on. Again go and check it out.

It has dawned on me whilst typing this that even though I know my thoughts are completely chaotic, I think it could possibly be showing up as I write. So for that I do apologize.

So what to do about my pattern fetish and keeping track of what patterns I am currently using and have used???

Well I am glad you wondered that too *giggle*

When I purchased my new laptop a few weeks ago, hubby and I also decided to get a nice small printer that would fit on my cupboard behind me. Just to make it easy to print out labels and so on.

My plan is to go through my patterns, print off the one's I have already used for future reference and delete them off Google Drive and file them in folders marked items for sale, items as gifts and items for self etc.

The other thing is by doing that is that I will be able to copy and paste the patterns and enlarge the print on them due to having really bad eyesight at the moment (new glasses and eye check will be happening later in the year).

I also think that once I have done that I will find that blasted pattern and then be able to finish off the bootie. Then I will hit the yarn drawers and bags, heaven knows they need sorting out.

Now on a completely different note, I hope you have all noticed the change I have made to my brand, not to mention the blog page. If you have any comments good or bad you would like to share, then please don't hesitate to leave a comment. I would so love get your feedback on it.

Don't forget Made With Love By Penny will be opening its doors to the international market on May 15th 2016.

Until Sunday, I wish everyone a wonderful week and hope you all keep safe.

ANZAC DAY

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry my weekly Sunday Blog Post did not happen but I had a "virus" glitch and had to reformat my brand new laptop. By the time I got it working, it was time for bed.

So today I am dedicating this blog post to the men and women past and present both here and abroad.

http://www.f-o-o-o-o.com/tag/anzac-day-picture-quotes/

What better day to honor those who have laid down their lives and are protecting our country than on ANZAC Day. This is the day that we remember those diggers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who fought so valiantly on the shores of Gallipoli on the 25th April 1915, 101 years ago.

When I think of the ANZAC's who fought so long ago, I immediately feel a sense of pride and loss. Pride at being an Australian with a very diverse family background. Loss for all those who have been impacted by the events of being in a war, both then and throughout the years that have gone by.

I can not imagine how a soldier feels when they are told they are being shipping out, nor can I fathom how their families and loved ones feel knowing that these brave and selfless people are putting their lives on the line to protect their country from adversity.

So to end this post today, I would like everyone to take a moment and remember what these brave men and women have done and are doing for their fellow Australian's and if you happen to pass a member of the military both past and present, STOP, SMILE AND SAY THANK YOU!
